Completed in 1854 for Isaac Turner, Jr., this house is said to have been a Station on the Underground Railroad. Legend has it that there is a tunnel leading from basement downhill toward the bay through which fugitive slaves could be secreted away from the house when necessary.
Isaac Turner, Sr. sold 68 acres to his son on March 10, 1854 for $1,510. This acreage was broken up over the years and today the house sits on a 17 acre lot.
At some point the house passed from Isaac Turner, Jr. to his nephew, Fred Turner, son of John Turner.
